Tuesday, October 29th, 2019
The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) at Georgia Tech-Savannah is hosting a second Fall Saturday STEMlab, designed for 3rd through 12th grade students interested in discovering more about science, technology, engineering, and math. This program will be offered on Saturday, November 9th from 9 am – 12 pm.
This is a unique opportunity for students to live in the 80’s, as Georgia Tech-Savannah’s world class educators bring classic arcade games back to life using robotics and coding! The students will be broken up into groups based on their grade level, and those at each level will engage in projects that reinforce the principles of STEM and encourage students to think critically.
3rd – 5th Graders: Create miniature arcade classics with hummingbird robotics
6th – 8th Graders: Video Game Design using Construct2
9th – 12th Graders: Gaming with MicroBits under the guidance of Dr. Russ Clark
Technology and art are a part of this experience, along with problem-solving, challenges, cooperative activities and games. All sessions will run from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and take place at the Georgia Tech Savannah’s campus (210 Technology Circle Savannah, GA 31407). Each Saturday STEMlab is $55 per student.
