The City of Savannah recently welcomed 14 local entrepreneurs into the second cohort of Launch Savannah, a comprehensive business accelerator program offered by the Economic Development Department in partnership with Start Up Savannah the Small Business Assistance Corporation.

Launch Savannah is a 12-week intensive, in-person series designed to increase participants’ business knowledge and provide elevated business education experience. The program was developed in response to a recommendation from the City’s Racial Equity and Leadership (REAL) Task Force to help build strong local, small and minority businesses. The inaugural cohort of Launch Savannah celebrated 15 graduates last year.

Applications for Launch Savannah were opened during the Mayor’s Small Business Conference in May. More than 95 applications were received. As part of the application process, applicants had to submit a pitch video about their business venture or concept for review panel to consider.
