Hansen Architects has received awards from both the Historic Savannah Foundation and The Georgia Trust for their architectural work on Drayton Tower, SCAD’s Hayman’s Hall and Levy Jewelers.

The Historic Savannah Foundation awarded eleven Preservation Awards to individuals and businesses on April 30th at their Awards Luncheon. The criteria on which these projects were judged are quality of work, degree of difficulty and the ultimate positive impact the project has on the surrounding community. Hansen Architects won two of the eleven awards presented, one for Drayton Tower and one for SCAD’s Hayman’s Hall. Both of these projects were rehabilitations of significant structures within the Historic Landmark District of Savannah.

On May 16th, in Cartersville, Georgia, The Georgia Trust recognized preservation projects within the state that have made significant contributions to the field of historic preservation. Awards are presented on the basis of the contributions of the person or project to the community and/or state and on compliance to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Hansen Architects received two awards on Friday night for Excellence in Rehabilitation. The projects that received these awards were Drayton Tower and Levy Jewelers (Levy Jewelers also won an HSF Preservation award in 2013). “Excellence in Rehabilitation” awards recognize projects that make compatible use of a building through repair, alterations or additions while preserving features of the property that convey its historic value.
