Yoga for Cancer Patients and Survivors 

6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, and 12:45 p.m., Thursdays, FitnessOne, 3rd floor of the Memorial Outpatient & Wellness Center, Memorial University Medical Center

These weekly yoga classes are free for cancer survivors and those in treatment. The classes help with flexibility and balance while also providing relaxation. The instructor is Yoga Alliance registered with more than 200 hours of training, including specialized yoga training for cancer survivors at OM Yoga in New York. Bariatric Surgery Information Session

Prepared Childbirth Class, Wednesday Series

6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays, June 4, 11, 18, and 25, Memorial University Medical Center

This course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. Cancer Survivorship Lecture Series

After cancer treatment, many patients have concerns about their physical, social, psychological, and spiritual health. This lecture series helps create building blocks for healthy survivorship and long-term healing. The lectures are free. The June topic is Integrative Therapies: How to Overcome Pain the Natural Way. Nourish to Flourish for Cancer Survivors – A Practical Approach to Living Well after Cancer Treatment

This free program includes a cooking demonstration, information about financial assistance, career counseling, tips for healthy living, and more. Meet other cancer survivors, enjoy light refreshments, and receive a survivorship care plan. This full-day course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. It is designed for parents who live outside of Savannah or have schedules that make it difficult to attend weekday classes. This course includes a tour of the labor and delivery unit. Baby Basics

This class is strongly recommended for first-time parents. A variety of topics are covered in this class such as basic newborn care, feeding, infant hygiene, life with a new baby, safety in the home, car seat safety, and infant CPR. $45 per couple. Head and Neck Cancer Support Group – Understanding the Healing Benefits of Massage Therapy

This group is open to individuals with cancers of the head and neck area and their caregivers. At the meetings, we will have a brief discussion from experts in the treatment of head and neck cancer and allow time for group discussion. Savannah Uncorked

This annual wine-tasting event raises funds for The Rehabilitation Institute at Memorial University Medical Center, and Memorial’s trauma and critical care services.
