The 36th Annual Telly Awards has named a local video project produced by a team of Lowcountry businesses as a Silver Telly award winner. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is a very prestigious honor.
The video, “Why We Go To Work”, is a training tool for the employee-owners of The Greenery, Inc. Moonstar Advertising and Public Relations LLC of Bluffton wrote, produced, directed, and supervised editing for the project. The Silver Telly statue went to Tom Jenkins Films, also of Bluffton, who shot and edited the video. Technical support and lighting was provided by Mike Ritterbeck Photography of Hilton Head. The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 and honors groundbreaking video and film productions. Winners represent the best work of advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, and corporate video departments in the world. Less than 10% of entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly.
Tom Jenkins has won Telly Awards before, but this is his first Silver Telly, their highest honor. “I’m thrilled to accept this award,” said Jenkins. “It puts our production up there with some pretty impressive names.” Other winners include: BET Networks, Dell, Discovery, Disney, ESPN, NBC, Showtime, Coca-Cola, The Weather Channel, and Warner Brothers. Mike Ritterbeck, who handled lighting and logistics, said, “The video was quite an undertaking, but we had a solid production team and plan.”
Lisa Carroll, President of Moonstar Advertising and Public Relations, adds, “This award recognizes the vast creativity and talents of the team recruited for this project. We recorded over 50 interviews at multiple locations over a 3 month period. The final product was a great video for The Greenery.”
