BankSouth announces the promotion of David Godwin to Senior Vice President, Director of Enterprise Development.  This role will lead the company in fostering new and existing relationships with industry partners, collaborating with BankSouth’s various divisions to advance opportunities for shared growth and building on synergies to further the BankSouth enterprise.

We have recognized the opportunity to add enterprise-wide employees to support our organic growth, prepare for future opportunities and to promote the synergies within our organization.” said Harold Reynolds, Chairman and CEO, BankSouth.    

Godwin brings nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry, primarily serving as a top performing Mortgage Loan Originator up until 2012 when he joined BankSouth Mortgage as the Vice President for the Alliance relationships.  In this role, Godwin focused on supporting the company’s Alliance Division, bringing on new builder and real estate company preferred relationships.  During this experience, he also served an integral role of joining bank and mortgage services through BankSouth’s construction lending program.  

Relationships and community are among Godwin’s top priorities.  He is a resident of Carrollton, Georgia and is currently serving his second term on the Carrollton City Schools Board of Education.  He also served on the Planning and Finance committees for Carrollton First United Methodist Church.
