BankSouth, named one of the top 20 community banks in the nation, is pleased to announce top local mortgage officer, Michael Caputo, has joined BankSouth and will oversee the bank’s entering mortgage operations in the Savannah market. In his new position, Caputo will work closely with BankSouth’s Savannah Market President, Laura Moore, and Chairman of the Savannah Advisory Board, Kay Ford, to further BankSouth’s commitment to serving the Savannah community.

Caputo brings over 20 years of experience serving as a leading local mortgage loan officer with deep ties in the Savannah community. Caputo graduated from Benedictine Military School and later earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and risk management from the University of Georgia. He was recently honored by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society winning “The Man of the Year” award in 2014 for raising over $70,000 for critical blood cancer research. Caputo also serves on the board of the Zoe Foundation and St. James Catholic School.
