Pacci Italian Kitchen + Bar Hosts Urban Hope’s First Supper Club

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, July 15th, 2015

Urban Hope is a local, grass roots nonprofit located in Savannah. The mission of Urban Hope is to instill hope in the inner city children of Savannah and empower them to seek change in their lives and in their community. The Urban Hope Board is dedicated to raising funds to support this mission in an effort to combat crime and poverty in Savannah, hence creating the Urban Hope Supper Club, a fun and unique experience for locals to support Urban Hope’s cause and dine at Savannah’s best restaurants.

Pacci Italian Kitchen + Bar was eager to host the inaugural Supper Club. Drawing experience from their existing Wednesday Night Supper Club Dinners and their determination to be heavily involved in their community, Ruth White and the team at Pacci will be creating a 3 course meal on July 15th for twenty eight Urban Hope Supper Club patrons. The dining experience will take place in one of Pacci’s sleek, modern, yet cozy private dining areas with wine pairings hand selected by the Chef Leoci and Kathleen O’Sullivan from National Distributing, the Supper Club wine sponsor.

“Pacci is known for our great location, soulful and sophisticated coastal Italian dishes, our friendly staff and now we want to be the first restaurant to partake in Urban Hope’s Supper Club,” Ruth White explains as to how Pacci become involved with Urban Hope. “We participated in Urban Hope’s successful Chefs and Chocolates event in February and we wanted to take that relationship through the year and support the success of their program.”

The Urban Hope Board is working on future Supper Club dinners at other restaurants throughout Savannah. “We are looking for restaurants with incredible culinary dishes, as well as restaurants that want to support our program and the inner city children and families whom Urban Hope serves,” Board Chair, Cassie Beckwith, explains. “Urban Hope is working diligently year round to improve Savannah as a whole by empowering at risk and underprivileged children, but we need people like Ruth White, Chef Leoci and Kathleen O’Sullivan to help us create unique experiences in order to raise money.”
