Zweig Group has named Thomas & Hutton to its 2015 “Best Firms to Work For List,” which honors outstanding workplaces in the architecture, engineering and environmental consulting industries based on workplace practices, employee benefits, employee retention rates, professional development and more.

For 69 years, Thomas & Hutton has acknowledged that the success and growth of its company is dependent on satisfied and loyal employees. This award recognizes what has long been the corporate philosophy at Thomas & Hutton: creating a work environment where employees feel valued and can clearly see their contribution to the mission and success of the firm.

“We value our staff and work hard to ensure they are more than just content with their workplace,” said CEO & President Sam McCachern, PE.  “It has to be fun.  Our excellent benefits program, low turnover rate, and long tenures are signs that people enjoy being part of Thomas & Hutton, and it is truly a great place to work.”

All participating firms receive a summary report of their employees’ survey responses as well as a report containing benchmarking data from all firms in a given category.  Thomas & Hutton values this information and uses it for continuous improvement.

Thomas & Hutton ranks No. 24 nationally in the civil engineering category.  All winners will be honored at an awards conference held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, MA on September 3-4, 2015.

According to Zweig Group: “Firms who applied for this ranking were evaluated comprehensively, both from the management and staff’s perspectives. These firms have done an amazing job providing a great workplace for their employees and they understand how important the workplace environment is to a firm’s ability to do good work, recruit/retain employees, and success in general.”
