On Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, the West Broad Street YMCA, located at 1110 May Street, Savannah, GA 31415, will be hosting the 2^nd Annual Tools 4 School event. Along with our community partners and media partners at Cumulus Media, the Y will provide hundreds of school-aged children in the local community of the Savannah/Chatham area with school supplies and other resources necessary to help ensure their academic success.

Providing youth with opportunities to continue to learn and engage in meaningful activities can boost their academic success. To help motivate and inspire kids to learn, the West Broad Street YMCA is offering an avenue for local youth to return to school prepared with school supplies and uniforms. Community residents and attendees will have access to the community pool, entertainment, arts and crafts, school supply giveaway, food and a tour of the facility on May Street. This event will also highlight how the Y has responded to complex issues involving, hunger, health, learning, water safetly, and safe places.  

The West Broad YMCA is still seeking individuals and businesses to donate school supplies and gently worn or new school uniforms to meet the needs of over 500 children that live in the surrounding communities. Donations will be received at the West Broad Street YMCA Welcome Center, 1110 May Street, and Savannah, GA 31415.
