Yoga for Cancer Patients and Survivors 

6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, and 12:45 p.m., Thursdays, FitnessOne, 3rd floor of the Memorial Outpatient & Wellness Center, Memorial University Medical Center

These weekly yoga classes are free for cancer survivors and those in treatment. The classes help with flexibility and balance while also providing relaxation. The instructor is Yoga Alliance registered with more than 200 hours of training, including specialized yoga training for cancer survivors at OM Yoga in New York. Bariatric Surgery Information Session

6 p.m., Wednesday, August 5, GenerationOne, 1100 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah

Prepared Childbirth Class, Wednesday Series

6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesdays, August 5, 12, 19, and 26, Memorial University Medical Center

This course gives an overview of reproductive anatomy and physiology and explains the process of labor and delivery in simple, easy-to-understand terms. The four-week course includes a tour of the labor and delivery unit. This class is popular, so please register early. The cost is $75 per couple. For more information, call 912-350-BORN (2676).

Leukemia, Lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma Support Group

This education and support group is for individuals with blood-related cancers and their loved ones. Each month, the group focuses on a specific blood cancer topic and on improving quality of life. To reserve your space, please call 912-350-7845.

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group – Understanding the Healing Benefits of Massage Therapy

2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, Conference Room of the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center 

This group is open to individuals with cancers of the head and neck area and their caregivers. At the meetings, we will have a brief discussion from experts in the treatment of head and neck cancer and allow time for group discussion. For more information, please call 912-350-7845. 

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon

Savannah radio stations 98.7 The River and WTKS News Radio 97.7 FM and 1290 AM will present Savannah’s second annual Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Radiothon to benefit The Children's Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center. Featured hosts will be morning radio personalities Murphy, Sam, and Jodi, along with Bill Edwards and Mark Robertson. The radiothon will feature inspiring stories of hope and healing from local families. Listeners will have an opportunity to donate to The Children's Hospital.

Sisters Network

Basic Breastfeeding Class

6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 25, Memorial University Medical Center

This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend.
