The Creative Coast is once again bringing together the brightest designers, coders, innovators, artists, technology mavericks and forward-thinking entrepreneurs to its annual Geekend conference set to kick off on October 15-17, 2015 in Savannah, Georgia’s beautiful historic district.

Geekend features three days of content-driven presentations, interactive workshops, thought-provoking panels, networking opportunities and undiluted information from top regional, national and international experts covering a variety of intertwined and interdisciplinary topics.

“Geekend is the pinnacle for creative minds, innovators and entrepreneurs seeking real actionable takeaways and insights they can apply to their own company or future entrepreneurial endeavor,” said Bea Wray, executive director of The Creative Coast. “Unlike other conferences with a laser focus on one issue or topic, Geekend attendees are immersed in an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation. This is the most-valuable investment, more than any other conference in the region, you can make in continuing education for yourself or for your employees.”

This year’s standout programing includes speakers Dominic Suszanski and Jacqueline Verdier, co-founders of Selfie on a Stick, a major retail phenomenon that swept across America and named one of TIME Magazine’s top inventions of 2014. Also, virtual reality guru Annie Eaton of ATLvr who will discuss the next steps in virtual reality for a variety of industries, while Kevin Dewalt, LeanStartup expert and technology entrepreneur, will explain how to get your first 100 customers.

John Burke, a renowned early stage venture capitalist and founder of True Ventures, will lead Pitch Circus, one of Geekend’s most-popular sessions during the jammed-packed 48 hours of programing. Pitch Circus is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for select entrepreneurs to present their projects to all Geekend attendees as well as guest venture capitalists. The audience will get an up close view of the sometimes precarious balancing act between entrepreneur and investor, as well as key-takeaways to apply when attracting future investors to their own endeavors.

“If you’re creating a cool iPhone app, then you should come. If you’re a designer, developer, blogger or a new media fanatic, then you should come. If you’re obsessed with all the digital aspects of music, film and art, then you should plan to break it down at Geekend. Even if you’re casually Twittering, Facebooking, texting or gaming, you should join the fun,” Emily McLeod, programs director for The Creative Coast. “Geekend is your chance to interact with people taking the tech and creative industries by storm.”
