McIntosh County Academy today announced a $30,000 gift for its athletics program from Kinder Morgan, Inc. The contribution will help students at McIntosh County Academy participate in a variety of sports, including softball, baseball, basketball, wrestling, track and field, cross-country, cheerleading, golf and football.

“We’re pleased to be able to contribute to the McIntosh County Academy athletics program and hopefully make a difference in the lives of student athletes,” said Allen Fore, vice president of public affairs for Kinder Morgan. “However, in a community the size of Darien, athletics touches everyone’s lives, not just the students.”

The Kinder Morgan gift will allow the athletics program to purchase equipment and uniforms, as well as provide travel funding for out-of-town competitions.

“Sports foster a sense of pride and camaraderie, so all of our students will benefit from this generous gift,” said John Barge, superintendent of McIntosh County Schools. “We are grateful to have a corporate sponsor that is committed to our community.”
