Memorial Health’s longtime pediatrician Tom McKee, M.D., is being honored by having the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in the future Children’s Hospital of Savannah named in his honor. The Thomas W. McKee, M.D., Pediatric Intensive Care Unit will be located in the new freestanding children’s hospital opening on the Memorial Health campus in 2017.  In support of the new PICU, Seacrest Partners Inc. and The Weil Family will match all gifts up to $375,000 made to The Children's Hospital of Savannah.

“Dr. McKee came to Memorial in 1981 and saw the need for an intensive care unit for children in our region. In 1985, he left Savannah to complete fellowship training in pediatric intensive care. He came back to open the first PICU in southeast Georgia. Now, thousands of children later, we are thrilled to have this opportunity to name the new PICU in Dr. McKee's honor,” said Eric Pearlman, M.D., medical director and physician-in-chief of The Children’s Hospital at Memorial University Medical Center.
