September 4th Art March
Staff Report From Savannah CEO
Friday, August 28th, 2015
Celebrate the 41st Art March with Art Rise Savannah on September 4th from six to nine, rain or shine. The Art March is a free self-guided tour of Starland’s creative businesses, artists, and unique shops. Featuring a free Art Trolley, food trucks, live music, and art activities for families the Art March is the best way to see Savannah’s local arts culture at work.
This month, Art Rise Savannah is excited to announce a new location for the Indie Arts Market. An open air market showcasing the artisanal crafts of artists and artisans, the Indie Arts Market was usually held in the Desoto Avenue. Starting this September the market will have a new location right next to Starland Cafe on the 41st Street between Drayton and Bull Street.
As part of the Indie Arts Market, Art Rise Savannah, Emergent Savannah, and East Taylor Creative will be presenting The Word We Want. Originally started in Brooklyn, TWWW is a traveling interactive art piece that invites the public to engage with big questions and big answers. Similar to the Before I Die project, The World We Want will be traveling throughout Savannah during the month of September, starting at the First Friday Art March.

Rain Plan: In the unfortunate event of heavy rain, Art Rise Savannah may have to cancel some of our activities. Stay tuned to our social media for up to date information. All locations will be open and the trolley will continue to run.
