The most recent enmarket Encourage Health Education program included a $2,000 check presentation to The Effingham County Navigator Team, a not-for-profit support group and recreational program for children with special needs and different abilities. In addition to receiving the Health Education grant, the Effingham non-profit also raised an additional $100 during the recent enmarket Dollar Day, receiving $1 for every car wash, $1 at their charity table and $1 donations from enmarket customers.

The lecture, third in this year’s education series, featured Chris Ramsey from Fleet Feet Savannah. He shared his top tips for running a 5K and encouraged attendees to give running a try.

“This annual series really is a win-win for all parties involved,” said enmarket Director of Marketing Matt Clements. “Chris Ramsey shared some very specific and tangible tips for running a 5K and at the same time, we were able to support an amazing non-profit organization that encourages healthy activities such as basketball and baseball for children with unique abilities. I would like to especially thank the businesses who partnered with enmarket to make this donation and presentation possible.”

The 2015 Enmark Encourage Health Education Series is sponsored by Healthy Savannah, Chatham Area Transit, Sandfly Family Dental, Stevens Hale and Associates, Savannah Morning News, Savannah Magazine, Pediatric Associates of Savannah, WJCL, Gulfstream Aerospace and GPB Savannah – WSVH 91.1/WWIO 89.9.

The fourth final lecture in the series will be “10 Yoga Tips: Hectic to Harmonious in 5 Minutes or Less” on Tuesday, October 27. It will be presented by Kelley J. Boyd, E-RYT500, founder and teacher at Savannah Yoga Center. At Boyd’s lecture, the Forsyth Farmer’s Market (FFM) will be awarded the Encourage Health grant. The FFM organization affirms it “envisions a sustainable, local food system that promotes the health of individuals, farmers and the community.”
