Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Monday, September 21st, 2015

The Savannah Jaycees announce the second annual Charity Date Auction will be held on Thursday, September 24 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Savannah Smiles, located at 314 Williamson St. The auction will be comprised of 20 to 25 men and women who come from various roles throughout the Savannah community.

A social hour will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. where attendees will have time to talk and meet the participants. Promptly at 8 p.m., eligible bachelors and bachelorettes with gift cards to various local restaurants will then be auctioned off for dates. There will also be a silent auction for those that don’t want to bid on participants.

Admission is $5. All proceeds raised from the event will go to benefit the Savannah Jaycees’ two service partners: Heads Up Guidance Services Inc. and the Compassionate Friends of Savannah.

“This event wouldn’t be possible without the support we receive from the community,” said Savannah Jaycees president Randi Hempel. “Last year, we raised almost $7000 for our service partner at the time, and we are excited to exceed that amount this year. Come support your friends and bid on Savannah’s premier singles. All donations will go to two amazing nonprofit organizations in Savannah.”

Funded by community donations and operated by volunteers, HUGS is a non-profit 501(3) organization making professional counseling and vocational guidance available and affordable to all who need and desire services.
