Memorial Health is hosting the Abiomed's Impella Mobile Learning Lab on Monday, September 28. The mobile lab is a highly interactive, facilitated learning experience brought to the hospital to train hospital staff on the Impella heart pump, one of the newest, minimally invasive heart technologies. The Impella 2.5, the World’s Smallest Heart Pump manufactured by Abiomed, is a percutaneous (through the skin) heart pump that offers hemodynamic support for patients during certain heart procedures. The Mobile Learning Lab offers cardiologists, nurses and cath lab staff Memorial University Medical Center a convenient opportunity to learn about the Impella platform in a lab containing various Impella simulators, animations and key information, which are all presented by a team of trainers.
