Savannah Philharmonic Announces New Board Chairman and Members

The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, a professional orchestra presenting a full range of concerts from classics to pops each season, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new chairman and three new members to its Board of Directors, each of whom were selected for their leadership roles within the community.

“We’re pleased to welcome a new board chairman as well as three new board members to the Savannah Philharmonic. They all bring a high level of enthusiasm for our efforts to provide the highest level of musical performances and educational programs,” said Robert Rund, executive director of Savannah Philharmonic. “With their leadership, we will continue to exhilarate, educate and enrich a large and diverse audience in the greater Savannah community.”

G. Ronald Morris, retired CEO, was appointed new chairman of the Board of Directors. Morris, a 15-year resident of Savannah, is the current non-executive chairman of NN, Inc., an international precision metal components manufacturer. In addition to serving as chairman, he also is a board member of the Savannah Salvation Army, a supporter and member of the Savannah Friends of Music, a patron of The Savannah Voice Experience and supporter of the Savannah Music Festival.

Other members named to the board include:

●    Suzan Kiepper Krannich, retired health care executive and psychotherapist, board member of the Savannah Music Festival and volunteer with the Savannah Friends of Music and the Savannah Voice Experience.

●    Samir Nikocevic, concert pianist.

●    James Spano, owner and operator of Cup to Cup Coffee Roasters, chairman of the Board of the Savannah Philharmonic Chorus, and supporter of the Savannah Children’s Choir, Savannah River Keepers, and the American Cancer Society.
