Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, November 18th, 2015

Urban Hope is excited to announce its 2nd Annual Pee Wee Rodeo; a fund raiser that will benefit Urban Hope’s free after school program and summer camp for inner city children. This event was created to give area children a chance to explore their inner rodeo champion, celebrate their joy for life and spend the day enjoying the farm!

The Pee Wee Rodeo is an event for children of all ages. Children will be able to participate in rodeo events using a stick horse, interact with farm animals in the petting zoo, ride ponies, take a wagon ride through the Old Dairy Farm, practice their archery skills, master their mechanical bull riding and get their faces painted. There will be food and drinks available for purchase from Chazito’s Latin Cuisine Food Truck, Thomas “The Hot Dog Man” and Kona Ice.

All proceeds from the Pee Wee Rodeo will go directly to the Urban Hope. Urban Hope is a local, grass roots nonprofit whose mission is to instill hope in Savannah’s inner city and at risk children, empowering them to seek change in their lives and in their community. Urban Hope achieves these goals through their free after school program, summer camp, high school student leader program, as well as monthly family night dinners. Urban Hope was founded in 2000 on the principle of "changing the world one child at a time."
