Ameris Bank recently completed its 6th Annual Helping Fight Hunger Food Drive Initiative which was held at all seven Ameris Bank branches throughout the Coastal Empire during the month of October. Multiple locations, including branches in Savannah, Pooler, Richmond Hill, Hinesville, and Rincon, collected non-perishable food items for donation to a local food bank within their respective community.

Over 845,000 non-perishable food items were collected during the food drive which will benefit non-profit organizations such as America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, Loaves and Fishes, Backpacks for Kids, Manna House, First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, and St. Boniface Catholic Church. Ameris Bancorp matched the donation with a $100,000 contribution which will also be distributed among local food banks.

“I am so proud of our Ameris Bank team and their exceptional efforts towards making a difference in our community,” said Greater Savannah Market President Austen Carroll. “This food drive will not only benefit multiple families within our region but has created additional awareness towards an ever-growing issue.”
