Change in Leadership at West Broad Street YMCA

The Board of Directors of the West Broad Street YMCA announced today that ZaDonna M. Slay, former Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, is no longer affiliated with the organization.  Board Chairman Joe Bell will lead a team of Directors to oversee the West Broad Street YMCA and its staff on a day-to-day basis while conducting a search for new leadership.    

“We are thankful for ZaDonna’s leadership and we wish her the best in the next phase of her career,” Bell said.

Founded in 1942, the West Broad Street YMCA is one of five remaining Heritage Y’s in the country and is located in downtown Savannah on May Street.  The West Broad Street YMCA serves all of Savannah with an early learning center, after school programs, summer enrichment programs, gym and swimming facilities, primary health care, job training, an organic garden, adult education, a public library, and many other community programs and resources.

The West Broad Street YMCA has a special mission to end generational poverty helping people achieve self-sufficiency.  The West Broad Street YMCA relies upon donations, grants, and community support.
