Georgia Heritage FCU was recognized for its exemplary lending at the CUNA Lending Council’s 21st Annual Conference held in Fort Lauderdale. GHFCU Vice President of Operations Robert T. Glore, Jr., accepted the award in the “Low/Modest Means” loan product category for assets less than $250 million during the Excellence in Lending Award presentation that acknowledged six credit unions.

The award was given to Georgia Heritage FCU in recognition of its Life Line Loan program, a small-dollar loan program that was developed in collaboration with the Filene Institute, Step Up Savannah and Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Savannah.

“The Life Line Loan program reflects the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’” said President/CEO Dale Taratuta. “We have received good response from local business owners and managers who are looking for ways to help their employees better afford life."

Altogether, six credit unions were recognized at the CUNA Lending Council annual conference. In addition to Georgia Heritage FCU, Boeing Employees Credit Union, Tukwila, WA; The Partnership FCU, Arlington, VA; Ent FCU, Colorado Springs, CO; GTE Financial, Tampa, FL; and Y-12 FCU, Oak Ridge, TN, received exemplary lending awards.
