Historic Savannah Foundation Hires Ryan Arvay as Historic Properties Coordinator

Historic Savannah Foundation, a nonprofit historic preservation organization preserving and protecting Savannah’s heritage, recently hired Ryan Arvay as historic properties coordinator.
 
In this position, Arvay will manage HSF’s Revolving Fund, a nationally acclaimed program which acquires properties classified as endangered and historically significant. Once acquired, the properties are secured, stabilized and marketed to preservation-minded buyers. In addition, Arvay will manage HSF’s easement program and deepen working relationships with the City of Savannah, Chatham County, neighborhood and civic associations, and industry professionals.
 
Prior to coming to HSF, Arvay worked as the living history coordinator for the University of West Florida Historic Trust and served as the vice president of the Santa Rosa County Historical Society. He began his career as program manager of two nationally accredited Main Street programs.
 
Arvay earned a B.A. in theatre and media arts from Brigham Young University and an M.A. in historic preservation from Savannah College of Art and Design. Originally from the California Bay Area, Arvay works as an independent preservation consultant, and splits his time between Savannah and Atlanta.
