Coastal Georgia National Association of Women in Construction is excited to announce the induction of our newest members, Shana Heckmann from VOS CPAs, PLLC; Vicky Barber from Gaster Lumber; Brandy Davenport with Savannah Construction & Preservation; and Heather Vinas with Atlantic Meridian Contracting Corp.

Ms. Heckmann is in the Front Office at VOS CPAs Savannah office, and focuses on the daily administration and client services. Ms. Barber is originally from Winston Salem, NC.  She grew up in Soperton, GA in the small tight knit community of Orianna.  She studied business all throughout high school and continued her education in business at Heart of Georgia Vocational Technical School in Dublin, Georgia.  She worked for Flexsteel Industries for 11 years before moving to Bloomingdale and worked for Pitney Bowes for almost 4 years before they left Savannah.  That was her opening into the building industry.  She was offered a position with Genesis Designer Homes where she worked until she went to the other side, the lumber side.  She has 9 years’ experience in the lumber business and enjoys being an Inside Sales Coordinator in her current position with Gaster Lumber.  In joining NAWIC she feels as if she’ll have the opportunity to meet many successful people and learn from them and their experiences.  If you’d like to learn more about Vicky Barber and Gaster Lumber she can be reached at [email protected] or telephone 912-921-5378.

Ms. Davenport grew up in San Antonio, Texas, went to college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and then spent 16 years in Ft. Worth, Texas before moving to Savannah three years ago with her husband and children and becoming a Partner with their company, Savannah Construction & Preservation.  As one of three partners she helps to make board decisions, and also manages the office, visit sites, go to pre-bids, and turns in bids.  Brandy is looking forward to being a part of NAWIC and learning from the organization about what more she can contribute to their company and ways to educate herself further on this business. Under Ms. Vinas’s leadership, Atlantic Meridian Contracting Corp. is quickly developing into an innovative, competitive, and reputable construction company focused in the interior and exterior construction markets, and is also a Certified Minority Business.
