Steve Marbut Inducted into North Carolina State University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Hall of Fame

Steve Marbut, President and CEO of Lummus Corporation, was inducted into North Carolina State University’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Hall of Fame this past Friday, October 30, 2015 in Raleigh, NC. With more than 13,500 alumni, only 34 graduates were selected for the 2015 inaugural class. Marbut has been with Lummus Corporation, the world’s leading manufacturer of cotton ginning and cotton seed cleaning equipment, since 1999. Lummus is headquartered in Savannah with operations in Lubbock, Texas, Brazil, Australia, China and India.  During Marbut’s tenure with Lummus, the company has introduced more than 25 new products and holds 9 active patents. Prior to joining Lummus, he enjoyed a 24 year career with General Electric Corporation. Marbut is past chairman of the board and current trustee for Hilton Head Preparatory School. He is also a past board member of the Savannah Chamber of Commerce, Hilton Head Baseball Association and the Georgia Southern University Business School advisory board. Marbut is also an active Vistage member.
