Former Bryan County Administrator and experienced Civil Engineer, Ray Pittman P.E., has established Pittman Engineering Co. LLC at Richmond Hill’s Crossroads Center, Suite 303, to provide Civil Engineering services to the Coastal Empire region.

Pittman was Bryan County Administrator from 2012-14: during this time Caesarstone selected Bryan County to build their first USA plant and Pittman oversaw various projects including commencing the construction of new water and sewer infrastructure.  Pittman is a veteran of the US Army and has resided in Richmond Hill for 29 years.  He was a Principal at Savannah based Thomas & Hutton Engineering Inc. from 1986- 2012 and has contributed to the Richmond Hill community through many, many hours of service including with Rotary, the United Way, Chamber of Commerce, High School, Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement, Soccer Program and Friends of Fort McAllister.

Founder and Controlling Member of the LLC, Pittman has appointed Jason Bryant P.E. as a senior member to work with him to lead their seven-person team of employees.  Bryant has resided in Richmond Hill for 16 years.  In October 2015, he left Thomas & Hutton after 20 years of working in various roles including Principal and Project Manager, to join Pittman.

Pittman Engineering has over 80 years of combined local engineering experience and expertise within the challenging low country geographic areas of Georgia and South Carolina which has flat land, poor soil quality and many flood plains.  The company offers innovative and practical engineering solutions especially in the fields of drainage and water management solutions.

Pittman said “I enjoyed my time as County Administrator but am delighted to return to my passion for civil engineering”.  Pittman commented. “I love this community, have lived here for nearly 30 years and am delighted to now realize my ambition to establish our firm in this town.  Richmond Hill is a fantastic area to start a business and there is a lot of potential for engineering professionals to help build a better community.”
