Interim University President Jean E. Bartels, Ph.D., R.N. announced today that at the Dec. 6 meeting of its Board of Trustees, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges reaffirmed the full accreditation of Georgia Southern University through the year 2025. The University’s accreditation was reaffirmed with “no recommendations," a gratifying confirmation of the SACSCOC’s highest confidence in Georgia Southern.
“This is an important milestone for our University and could not have happened without the commitment, hard work and expertise of the faculty and staff at Georgia Southern,” said Bartels. “Our thanks go out to all who contributed not only to our reaffirmation self-study and on-site reaffirmation visit, but to the development of our culture of assessment for ongoing academic and institutional improvement.”
In addition, the University received full approval for the implementation of its Quality Enhancement Plan, Georgia Southern! Eagles! Write! Write! Write!
This positive reaffirmation clearly demonstrates Georgia Southern University’s ongoing commitment to the highest level of academic quality and signifies that the University has met the rigorous standards of educational quality and institutional effectiveness set forth by the SACSCOC.
The SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
