Senior Citizens, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people age successfully, is pleased to announce the donation of a digital book of art masterpieces from the Coastal Georgia Chapter of For Love & Art. Chapter Chair Myra Braswell presented the book on behalf of the organization to SCI President Patti Lyons, Vice President Jenny House, and Ruth Byck Adult Daytime Care Center Director Katy Harne on December 8. Braswell is also a former SCI neighborhood center director.

Clients at the Ruth Byck Adult Daytime Care Center of SCI now have a world of great art at their fingertips. Valued at $750, the book includes more than 1,000 digital photos from museum collections around the U.S., bringing an art experience to people with limited mobility and those without access to art and museums. Participating museums include the Art Institute of Chicago, J. Paul Getty Museum, The Kimbell Art Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The National Gallery. Viewers can enlarge the art images to see details, and the images can also be viewed on a television screen for the seniors to enjoy together.

“These books of art will undoubtedly enhance the quality of life for our homebound seniors,” said Lyons. “We are always looking for new and unique programs, services and even gifts to offer our clients to improve their current living experience. We are so grateful to Ms. Braswell and the local For Love & Art organization for their donation and thoughtfulness.”
