Park Place Outreach – Youth Emergency Shelter recently received $2,000 in grant funding from the Morgan Stanley Foundation. This funding will be utilized for its twelve bed emergency shelter for young people ages 11 to 17, located at 514 East Henry Street.

In 2014, Park Place Outreach assisted approximately 100 young people through the emergency shelter program. These residential services include meals, transportation to and from school, and clothing. The ultimate goal is to provide a safe and loving environment with hopes of reunifying families.

The non-profit organization serves many teens and young adults through non-residential services as well. Many of these services include providing personal care items, counseling and overall support.

“The shelter is fortunate to have caring and committed partners, such as Morgan Stanley, supporting our efforts to help at-risk youth here at the home,” said Linda Hilts, PPO Director. “These dollars will directly benefit young people in the shelter and on the streets.”
