Savannah Speech and Hearing Center Hires Alicia Johnson as Speech Referral Specialist

Savannah Speech and Hearing Center, a nonprofit organization serving the speech pathology and audiology needs of the Coastal Empire since 1954, is pleased to welcome Alicia Johnson to their team.

In her position as speech referral specialist, Johnson is responsible for a variety of operational tasks including processing all incoming referrals, maintaining and verifying patient records, and management of therapist schedules. In addition, Tucker optimizes patient satisfaction by completing reports in a timely manner and responding to their immediate needs.

A Savannah native, Johnson received her degree in medical assisting from Savannah Technical College.  Prior to working with Savannah Speech and Hearing Center, Johnson was a practice manager at Memorial Urgent Care and Occupational Health completing an array of tasks including reviewing medical records for accuracy and completion as required by insurance companies and supervising daily operations of facility in accordance with set guidelines.  Additionally, Johnson worked as an administrative manager/medical assistant at St. Joseph’s / Candler Hospital recording patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results, as well as assisting physicians with examining and treating patients.

She is currently holds certifications in Basic Life Support, DOT Drug Screen Technician, and DOT Breath Alcohol Technician.
