Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce to Host February Lunch & Learn: Tourism & Business: How They Work Together

Join the Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber at its February Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, February 3, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Richmond Hill City Center for a presentation on tourism and business. Presenters include Christy Sherman, executive director of the Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau and president of the Richmond Hill Historical Society; Mark Campbell, treasurer of the Henry Ford Heritage Association in Michigan; Daniel Carey, president and CEO of Historic Savannah Foundation; and Cheryl Hargrove with Georgia Department of Economic Development.
 
The presentation, which will also serve as the Historical Society’s February Lecture, will focus on how tourism and business work together. Topics covered will include how organizations are partnering to raise awareness about the contributions of Henry and Clara Ford in Richmond Hill, promoting tourism, and championing historic preservation. Smart development, ways to leverage historical and natural assets, and the state’s efforts to bring tourism to Richmond Hill and to the Georgia coast will also be discussed.
 
In addition, guests will hear about upcoming preparations for The Clara Ford 150th events in Richmond Hill on April 23 which will commemorate Mrs. Ford’s 150th birthday. Guests will learn about the economic impact of tourism in Richmond Hill and how all local businesses could be affected by these efforts.
