The Treutlen House at New Ebenezer -- a nonprofit, community-based, ecumenical ministry for children and families -- today announced a $5,000 gift from Kinder Morgan, Inc. to purchase mattresses and furniture.

“The Treutlen House supports and guides the people who need it most -- our children and their families,” said Allen Fore, vice president of public affairs, Kinder Morgan. “On behalf of Kinder Morgan, we’re pleased to be able to invest in an organization that is so important to this community.”

The programs of Treutlen House directly address issues of abuse, neglect, abandonment and other family problems through a professionally administered continuum of preventive and therapeutic services to children and their families. These services include family preservation, alternative family placement, or independent living.

“It is our mission to lead children, teens and families in crisis to a wholeness in spirit, mind and body so they may be more productive to themselves, their family, their community and their world,” said Kristen Wert, executive director, Treutlen House. “Having a corporate sponsor like Kinder Morgan makes our mission more achievable.”
