The Joyce Harrison Memorial Bicycle Poker Run presented a check for $10,000 to the Lynn Bishop Mammography and Patient Assistance Fund to benefit breast cancer patients at the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center. The annual ride celebrates the memories of friends lost to cancer while raising money. With this year's gift, the group has donated more than $50,000 to the ACI since 2010. The funds have been used to provide mammograms and other diagnostic imaging for women in need and patient assistance during cancer treatment. William Burak, M.D., a breast cancer surgical oncologist, and Suzy Buelvas, the manager of Oncology Support Services joined the group for the celebration.
