The board of directors of the Development Authority of Bryan County formally announced the $50,000 pledge toward a Precision Manufacturing expansion at Savannah Technical College at its February 17 meeting. The five-year commitment of $10,000 annually supports the College’s $10 Million major gifts campaign announced last year.

“This is an important commitment for us,” said Board Chairman Derrick Smith. “Manufacturing and distribution continue to grow in the County, and we recognize the importance of providing the skilled workforce our existing industries and the prospective companies looking to invest in Bryan County need to thrive.”

Bryan County is home to a diverse group of industries, including Daniel Defense, Orafol, West Penn Testing Group, Caesarstone, Savannah Global Solutions, Oneida, Blue Bell Ice Cream and CZM Foundation Equipment.

“We thank the leadership in Bryan County for their commitment to our expansion efforts,” says College President Dr. Kathy Love. “We are proud of the strong support we have received from our service area development authorities. They truly understand the importance of having a skilled workforce as we work to bring new industry to and supporting existing industry in our communities.”
