GDOL to Help South Carolina Department of Corrections Recruit Officers in Savannah Friday

The Georgia Department of Labor will host a recruitment Friday, Feb. 19, to help the South Carolina Department of Corrections hire about 200 officers for its correctional facility in Ridgeland, S. C.

The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center located at 5520 White Bluff Road.

Veterans are encouraged to apply. Salaries range from $25,561 to $28,438 annually, based on experience.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma, and a valid driver’s license. Veterans should bring their U.S. Department of Defense DD214 form to the event.

The employers will conduct a pre-employment background and motor vehicle record check, drug screening test and physical fitness test for selected applicants.
