Parker’s, an award-winning convenience store leader, recently donated $2,000 to Evans County schools at the ribbon cutting for the company’s new drive-thru retail location in Claxton, Ga. The store, which is located on Hwy. 301 at 3 N. Duval St., celebrated its official grand opening on Feb. 19 at a ceremony attended by more than a dozen local dignitaries.
“At Parker’s we believe in giving back to every community where we do business,” said Greg Parker, company president and CEO. “We understand that education opens doors and provides opportunities in Evans County. We’re deeply honored to support schools and strengthen communities through our Fueling the Community Program.”
Parker’s donates a portion of the proceeds from every gallon of gas purchased at all 43 of its convenience stores on the first Wednesday of each month to community schools through the Fueling the Community program. The company’s charitable initiative officially launched in the fall of 2011 and donates more than $100,000 each year to public and private schools throughout Georgia and South Carolina.
