The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, a professional orchestra presenting a full range of concerts from classics to pops each season, announced today it has named Terri O’Neil as director of development. She will assume her duties -- including strengthening and developing donor relations, developing long-range fundraising strategies, and supporting board development initiatives -- on February 15.

“The Savannah Philharmonic is thrilled to welcome Terri O’Neil as its new development director,” said Ron Morris, chairman of the Savannah Philharmonic Board of Directors. “Terri has more than 25 years of high profile success in strategic business and organizational development, and has experience in diverse community development activities, including educational outreach. She will be a tremendous asset to the Philharmonic.”

Prior to coming to the Philharmonic, O’Neil served as director of development for Historic Savannah Foundation, where she was actively involved with making strategic decisions regarding fundraising and community relations. She increased memberships, major gifts, and grant and foundation support for four consecutive years. For more than 30 years, she has been active in community and business development for private businesses and nonprofit organizations.

O’Neil, a resident of Ardsley Park, attended Armstrong State University and is a 2012 graduate of  Leadership Savannah. She has association memberships with the Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Leadership Council, the Ardsley Park Chatham Crescent Neighborhood Association, Downtown Neighborhood Association, and Historic Savannah Foundation, Inc., among others.
