Senior Citizens, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping people age successfully, is hosting its 5th annual "Have a Heart" fundraising campaign to support essential programs. The campaign runs throughout the month of February and will be promoted via SCI’s Facebook page.

“This year, we hope you will consider giving a monetary gift to honor someone special in your life, whether it’s your grandparents or other seniors in your life or anyone else, and help support SCI’s programs and services,” said SCI President Patti Lyons. “Our programs are widely used and relied upon by people who rarely ask for help, including Meals on Wheels, Adult Daytime Care, In-Home Care, Senior Companions, and the Sterling Rides Volunteer Driving program.”

The “Have a Heart” campaign features a series of SCI clients and volunteers with staff members. The public is encouraged to “Like” Senior Citizens, Inc. on Facebook and donate via a secure online portal that will give them the option to allocate funds to the program of their choice.

Programs included in the campaign are:

-Meals on Wheels -- delivers a hot, nutritious lunch by a friendly volunteer

-Adult Daytime Care -- provides all-day care for frail seniors, including those with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, and offers much-needed respite for caregivers.

-In-Home Care -- provides care in the home to seniors, including nursing, personal care, homemaker, and companion services.

-Senior Companions – provides an assistant age 55 or older to help frail seniors with daily life.

-Sterling Rides -- offers free transportation to and from doctor's' offices, the grocery store, church, and more for seniors who can no longer drive themselves.
