Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016

Tammy Moseley Ray is pleased to announce the launch of Savannah Event Network, a comprehensive resource for event organizers and vendors.

Businesses affiliated with events are invited to join the Savannah Event Network to access information and to take advantage of networking opportunities. Three categories of membership are based on business type – nonprofit, corporate/individual or vendor – and offer the following benefits:

● Planning calendar – A tool to assist in avoiding date conflicts. In addition, members who submit events to the planning calendar have the option to send them to the event calendars of the Savannah Morning News and Savannah magazine.

● Vendor directory – A guide to local businesses providing goods and services for events.

● Request for proposal – A system for event organizers to request quotes from member vendors.

● Helpful information – A reference section with topics ranging from special event alcohol permits to seating style examples.

● Awards – A program recognizing excellence among event organizers and vendors.

● Conference – An event including an awards luncheon, educational sessions and a trade show.

● Newsletter – A communication for member updates, job openings, announcements and other news.

● Blog – A forum for sharing trends, behind-the-scenes secrets, tips from vendors and more.

All event organizers and vendors, regardless of membership in the Savannah Event Network, are eligible to participate. All event organizers are encouraged to submit events to the calendar so those dates may be used for planning purposes. All businesses that provide goods and services for events are asked to apply for a listing in the vendor directory so it will be as inclusive as possible.
