Green Truck Pub in Savannah will host a fundraiser to benefit the Memorial Health University Physicians-Family Medicine Center garden project on Wednesday, March 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by Georgia’s Lowcountry Chapter of the American Herbalists Guild.

Family medicine resident physician Justin Law, M.D., is spearheading the raised-bed garden project. An avid gardener himself, he plans to install raised garden beds on the grounds of the Family Medicine Center, located on 66^th Street. The vegetables and herbs grown there will be distributed – free of charge – to Family Medicine Center patients to encourage them to make healthy food choices.

Green Truck Pub, located at 2430 Habersham Street, will donate $1 for every SweetWater product sold that night. Additionally, the restaurant will match up to $500 of the total raised.

Law and his fellow family medicine residents are planning to install the beds and plant the vegetables and herbs in April.
