John Brooks Appointed Director of Human Resources at Armstrong

John Brooks has been appointed to the position of Director of Human Resources at Armstrong State University. In this role, Brooks will lead a staff of six human resource professionals in hiring and retaining university employees, assisting with employee relations and promoting staff development in line with industry trends.
 
Brooks joins Armstrong with 19 years of experience in human resource management, which includes 12 years experience in higher education human resource management. He previously served as the associate vice president for human resources at Tennessee Tech, the chief human resources officer at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and the director of human resources at Clayton State University.
 
With a master’s in Public Administration from Missouri State University and B.S. degrees in Criminal Justice Administration and Psychology from Drury University, Brooks served as adjunct and participating faculty educating students on the principles of business administration at Clayton State University, Columbia College, Tennessee Tech and William Woods University. An advocate for small business development, he also participated with the Clayton County and Morrow Chambers of Commerce for five years.
