Mayor DeLoach to Speak at Buy Local Savannah Meeting Thursday

Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016

Savannah Mayor Eddie Deloach, owner of Tidewater Landscape Management and a founding member of BUY LOCAL SAVANNAH, will be the featured speaker at BUY LOCAL’s regular meeting Thursday, March 24. The meeting begins at 11:30AM at the Pirate’s House.

Mayor Deloach will discuss how a locally-owned business can grow in Savannah; what residents and business owners can do to create a stronger, local business culture and what he, as mayor, plans to do to support local businesses.  “We are honored to have Mayor Deloach as our speaker,” Dan Pavlin, BUY LOCAL SAVANNAH’s Volunteer President and Bernard Williams & Company’s Vice President of Commercial Lines, said.

“Thursday’s meeting will be attended by eight past presidents of BUY LOCAL as we show our support to the mayor and the city for initiatives that help Locally Owned Savannah Businesses,” according to Pavlin.  Past BUY LOCAL Presidents and current, local business representatives attending the meeting are Don Ernst, Ted Kolgaklis, John Powers, Paula Kreissler, Ray Williams, Michele Thompson, and Joe Ippolito.

“This is a major push by the leadership of Savannah’s local businesses to encourage Mayor Deloach to take action to protect the locally owned, independent businesses of Savannah which provide the city with unique flavors, job growth and economic stability,” Pavlin explained. “Every dollar spent locally has on average three times the impact as money spent with non-local businesses,” he added.
