Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K Road Closures Announced

The annual Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon & 5K will take place this Saturday, April 2, resulting in road closures.
 
Roads will be closed starting at 7:30 a.m., with the 5K route reopening by 9 a.m.; portions of the 5K route could reopen as early as 8 a.m. The half marathon route will temporarily close Victory Drive between 8-10:30 a.m. Detours will be at Abercorn and Bee Roads. The Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department will assist with the event, allowing cars to safely cross the course at major intersections.
 
The race weekend will begin with a New Balance Fashion Fitness Expo at the Savannah Hilton DeSoto from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday, April 1. The half marathon and 5K races start at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, with the post-race party to be held in Forsyth Park.
 
The race will be held rain or shine. If lightning is present in the area, the race will either have a delayed start (maximum 30-minute delay) or, depending on the intensity of the weather, be canceled. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
