The Fairfield Inn & Suites located at 135 MLK, Jr. Blvd. in historic, downtown Savannah is nearing its final phase of construction and is planning to open in July 2016. The new hotel is the first of three new construction projects planned for that particular site, with the Aloft coming in 2017 and a parking garage to open with the Fairfield this summer.

The property developer and hotel management company, HOS Management, is known for bringing major hotel brands to the Savannah area. Their latest project, the Fairfield Inn & Suites (a Marriott affiliate), is being constructed within the brand’s reimagined fourth generation prototype and the first of its kind in Savannah.

In recent years, Marriott rebuilt the Fairfield brand from the ground up giving it a more modern, comfortable and productive look and functionality to meet the growing demand for a quality, moderate-tier product. The new Gen 4 prototype features warm and inviting colors and focuses on meeting the top priorities for business travelers with rooms and suites designed with a productive workspace, innovative storage solutions and a modern bath experience.

“We’ve owned the land for quite some time, but were waiting for just the right opportunity to move forward with a new hotel project,” said Anil Patel, HOS Management founder and chief development officer. “With a palpable uptick in energy in the MLK corridor, we knew now was the perfect time and couldn’t be more excited to add an incredible hotel option and value for travelers in an area many see as the gateway into our historic city.”

Conveniently located in Savannah’s National Landmark Historic District, the Fairfield Inn & Suites – Historic Savannah will feature six floors, 140 spacious guest rooms., 3600 square feet of meeting space and a sports bar and lounge. The hotel is within walking distance to some of Savannah’s most popular attractions including award-winning restaurants like the much-buzzed about The Grey, and major retail and boutique shopping along Broughton Street.
