Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Friday, May 20th, 2016

This spring, BankSouth, a top performing community bank in the nation founded in 1946, is celebrating its one-year anniversary since re-entering the Savannah market and its 70th anniversary as a family-owned and operated financial institution. BankSouth’s Savannah location has remained committed to its mission to revive the fundamental practice of relationship banking.

“We’ve seen exciting success here in the Savannah market.  This could not have been achieved without our local leadership and exemplary team members,” said Harold Reynolds, chairman and CEO of BankSouth. “Many of us enjoy technological banking conveniences, but there is a void in the industry when it comes to the personal connectedness that should exist between a bank and its customers. At BankSouth, we are committed to putting the relationship back into banking and believe our success as a continuously recognized top performing community bank in the nation is due to this core mission.”

“I couldn’t be more proud of what these anniversaries mean to the bank, but even more importantly, what they signify to our community and the health of the banking industry as a whole,” said Laura Moore, Savannah market president of BankSouth. “ The Savannah team is so proud to be a part of a bank that values long term relationships over short term goals, and I believe our customers have experienced that difference as well. We would especially like to thank our advisory board members for the unbelievable work and counsel they’ve provided our team, helping us to forge even stronger relationships in the community.”
