Savannah Firm, Hansen Architects, Awarded Coastal Pines Technical College’s New Classroom Building

Savannah Architecture firm, Hansen Architects, has been awarded the new construction, 60,000 square feet classroom building for Coastal Pines Technical College in Camden County.  Hansen Architects will lead the team through programming, concept design, design development, and construction administration with an estimated completion date of April 2018.

The new educational facility for Coastal Pines Technical College will house programs including: Welding and Joining Technology, Maritime Operation Technology, Certified Nurse’s Assistant, Computer Information Systems, and general classroom space. Residents from the surrounding areas, such as Kingsland, Kings Bay Base, St. Mary’s, and Woodbine, will be able to acquire degrees within these programs, giving the community an opportunity for increased workforce.

Hansen Architects celebrate 70 years of business in 2015 and was recently awarded a Historic Savannah Foundation Preservation Award in early May for their preservation work on Broughton Street. The Savannah firm has been diligently working alongside the Ben Carter Enterprises’ team to restore over ten historic building facades located along Broughton Street.

Other Hansen Architects’ noteworthy projects currently under design and construction include The Perry Lane Hotel, located at the corner of Perry Street and Drayton Street in Savannah; several Broughton Street Collection residential units; a mixed used project located in Brooklyn, New York; Residences in the Ford Plantation, Palmetto Bluff, Brays Island, Oldfield, and the Historic District in Savannah.
