Yoga for Cancer Patients and Survivors

6:30 p.m., Tuesdays, and 12:45 p.m., Thursdays, FitnessOne, 3rd floor of the Memorial Outpatient and Wellness Center

These weekly yoga classes are free for cancer survivors and those in treatment. The classes help expand flexibility and balance while also providing relaxation. The instructor is Yoga Alliance registered with more than 200 hours of training, including specialized yoga training for cancer survivors at OM Yoga in New York. The class includes a three-month membership in BSCI and booklets covering a variety of subjects including goal-getting, exchanging habits, strength-n-sculpt, and kick start. Prostate Cancer Support Group: Man to Man

This group is for men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and their caregivers. The group provides a variety of educational and support programs. Basic Breastfeeding Class

6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday July 26, Memorial University Medical Center

This two-hour session is designed to educate and support the mother planning to breastfeed. Topics include preparing to breastfeed, basic breastfeeding concepts, nutrition, and a discussion of common concerns. Issues such as family support for the breastfeeding mother, the father’s role in feeding, and how to breastfeed and continue to work are also covered. Your support person is encouraged to attend.
