The Park Place Outreach – Youth Emergency Shelter recently received a $10,000 donation from O.C. Welch III toward the purchase of a Ford Transit vehicle. The brand new, nine-passenger Ford vehicle replaces the shelter’s decade-old van.

“Safe and reliable transportation is a crucial component for keeping our program on track,” said Linda Hilts, Executive Director of Park Place Outreach.

In addition to providing a safe place to stay, the shelter transports young people to and from school, doctor’s appointments and a variety of other places on a daily basis.

Welch said, “I know how vital this organization is to the youth in Savannah and I was more than pleased to donates funds toward a new van.”
