Staff Report From Savannah CEO

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016

Ogeechee Riverkeeper has introduced a new needs-based volunteer program for existing and new members and encourages people who are interested in helping to preserve Georgia’s waterways to take their involvement to a new level. The non-profit organization, which is now in its 11th year protecting the Ogeechee, Canoochee, and Coastal Rivers, is appealing for members to apply for specific projects that draw on a range of talents and interests.

Needed positions include: Office Assistant, Adopt-a-Stream Water Quality Monitors, Education Assistants, Event staff, Designers (brochures, shirts, etc.), Boat Captains, Paddle Trip Guides, and special projects. All positions are open to current members of the organization and an annual membership starts at $35 for an individual.

Detailed information about each position is available on Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s website here, the volunteer work (with the exception of Office Assistant and Adopt-A-Stream Monitors) requires flexible hours rather than a standard working schedule. Volunteers in specific categories will be added to email lists and contacted when volunteer opportunities become available.

Applications are accepted through the website here, and applicants will be contacted to arrange an interview.
